In this section are my projects in short. For the more extensive version, click on the title of the game.
Our game is a top-down arena survival game. You play as a Roman warrior and you have to survive against different enemies. As you progress, some enemies may become stronger and... bigger?!? Also, you can buy a variety of weapons, each with different attacks and abilities. So what are you waiting for? Be THE Roman Revenant!
A 3-week solo project where you could make anything you wanted. So I made a 3D platformer game. Can you go trough all the levels with Yoshi and find all his lost wings back?
We needed to make a race game but with glow in it, so why don't make it night-themed? In this game, it's your goal to drive 3 laps as fast as possible. What's your fastest time?
The final project of year one. A 3D shooter/survival game with robo-dinos. It even has an upgrade system in it to make your player stronger! Will you make it to the end?
My first group project! This is a Shoot Them Up (SHMUP) top-down game. The goal is to survive the enemies that come from above the screen and defeat the enemy boss. Can you defeat him?
A strategy top-down game. The enemies are attacking your valueble gem. Spawn your own units to fight against them. Will you survive all the waves?
Hi, my name is Lars Pluijmakers. I am 19 years old, and I live in Oudkarspel. My hobbies are gaming (obviously), playing chess, and ice skating.
My education is Game Developer at the Grafisch Lyceum Utrecht (GLU). If you know Oudkarspel then you will know it's not even close to Utrecht.
So yes, I travel every day to Utrecht and back. It's 2 hours each way, but it's worth it. Because I really like my education and programming has become my passion.
Before I went to GLU, I had never even touched a code language. I literally started from square one. At the beginning of my education, I was quite struggling
and it also didn't help that I was sick in one of the first weeks. I was falling behind a bit.
Then after the first few weeks school offered some extra help to the students who were just like me, struggling a bit to keep up or didn't understand certain things.
After the first few months, I managed to turn things around. I understood everything better.
From that moment onwards I was only in an upward spiral. My grades got better and my motivation had never been so high. Even to this day, my motivation is incredibly high.
Back in middle school, my motivation was never there. But since I go to school here, that has changed. Even though I have to travel 4 hours every day, it's so worth it.
Cause this has become my passion and I am so happy with all the choices I have made. So in conclusion: you can achieve everything in life if you work hard enough for it.
